Senate Journals
The Secretary of the Senate is required by the rules of the Arkansas Senate to keep a journal of the daily proceedings. A copy of the journal is given to the Secretary of State for their archives. The Secretary of State's office has most of the journals going back to when the Senate first met in 1836. The journals from 1836 to about 1910 were hand written. Today's journals are entered on a computer. Below are electronic versions of the Senate journal from the 83th General Assembly (2001) to today. To look at an older journal contact the Secretary of State's Office or the Arkansas State Archives.
