Senator Fredrick J. Love was elected to the Senate in 2022 and was sworn in on January 9, 2023. He represents District 15 which includes parts of Little Rock and Pulaski County.
Senator Love is vice co-chair of the Joint Retirement and Social Security Committee. He is a member of the Senate Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee, the Senate Transportation, Technology and Legislative Affairs Committee, the Arkansas Legislature Council and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee. He is the Senate Minority Whip.
He served in the House of Representatives from 2011 through 2022.
In 2025 Senator Love sponsored legislation that created Lux’s Law, which prohibits the sale of a dead human body or parts of one. He also sponsored legislation to require warning labels for hair relaxers that contain potentially harmful chemicals.
Senator Love is a graduate of Joe T. Robinson High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He has a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and attended the Harvard Kennedy School for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
Senator Love is a member of the Prince Hall Masons of Arkansas and a Past Master of the Prince Hall Masonic Order.
His previous volunteer service includes membership on the boards of Carelink, Women and Children First and the Pulaski County Child and Youth Services Advisory Board, where he served as parliamentarian.
Senator Love and his wife, ShaRhonda, attend Greater Second Baptist Church. They have a son, Fredrick II, and a daughter, Millicent Anastasia.
