$500,000 from the Restricted Reserve Funds to Food Banks starting on Monday, November 3, 2025

Senator Missy Irvin, Chair of the Arkansas Legislative Hunger Caucus, stated, “the Governor along with the Arkansas Legislative Council are directing $500,000 from the Restricted Reserve funds to food banks starting on Monday, November 3, 2025.”

Due to the federal government shutdown funding for SNAP benefits will cease on November 1. Should the shutdown continue, additional allocations will be made by the legislature on a weekly basis.

The funds will be split equally between six Arkansas food bank networks:
• Northwest Arkansas Food Bank at Springdale
• Food Bank of North Central Arkansas at Norfork
• Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas at Jonesboro
• River Valley Regional Food Bank at Fort Smith
• Arkansas Foodbank at Little Rock
o Arkansas Foodbank Lexa Branch
o Arkansas Foodbank Warren Branch
• Harvest Regional Food Bank at Texarkana
